Reliable 1-component polyurethane long-term adhesive and sealant

DINITROL 410 UV NF is a 1-component polyurethane adhesive and sealant with good resistance and UV stability. The sealant is quick-drying and elastic and can be coated with most paints.

2-C acrylic paints can be applied in a wet-on-wet process. Colours containing alcohol and alkyd resins make curing more difficult.

  • Reduced preparation and processing times
  • Very good UV stability and weather resistance
  • Saves primer costsHigh
  • acceptance thanks to user-friendly handling and a high-quality finish

Application

DINITROL 410 UV NF is used for bonding and sealing in a number of industrial areas such as the manufacture of buses, lorries and motorhomes. The material adheres well to primed and painted metals, thermosets (glass fibre reinforced plastic and rigid PVC), wood and glass. It is suitable for sealing overlap and expansion joints in visible interior and exterior areas in commercial vehicle production. We recommend carrying out an adhesion test before applying to complex substrates.

Speciality primers

  • Plastic primer
  • Zinc or aluminium primer
  • Wood primer
  • Glass primer

Type of application

DINITROL 410 UV NF is applied at room temperature. The surface to be treated must be clean and free of dust, oil and grease. Please use DINITROL 582 to clean contaminated substrates. Application from the cartridge or tubular bag is carried out using commercially available spray guns. The bead geometry and layer thickness for bonding depends on the maximum load caused by movement in the adhesive joint. DINITROL 410 UV NF cures depending on the joint dimensions, humidity and temperature.

Recoatability

2-C acrylic paints, elastic paints (latex paints, water-soluble acrylic paints). Water-soluble paints should be tested for suitability in advance. Alcohol-based paints or alkyd resin paints make curing more difficult and may only be applied to fully cured sealant. Ensure that the sealant is fully cured to avoid blistering at higher temperatures.

Expansion joints may only be coated with elastic paints. For nitrocellulose paints, it is necessary to carry out a suitability test before application.
