Universal adhesive and sealant
DINITROL 425 UV is a 1-component polyurethane sealant and adhesive with excellent staying power and good UV and weather resistance.
The sealant is quick-drying, elastic and can be painted over with most paint systems after skin formation.
The product has very good adhesion to many substrates and can therefore be used as a versatile adhesive and sealant. DINITROL 425 UV can be sanded after curing. GHS labelling (EU hazardous substance pictograms) is not required.
- Reduced preparation and processing times
- Mechanical strength is 50% higher than with standard PU
- Very good UV stability and high weather resistance
- Saves priming costs
- Reliable long-term sealant
- High acceptance due to user-friendly handling and high-quality finish
Areas of application
DINITROL 425 UV is used for bonding and sealing in various areas such as bus, lorry, caravan, automotive and shipbuilding. The material adheres to primed and painted metals, aluminium, rigid plastic (GRP, rigid PVC), wood and glass. It is suitable for sealing overlap and expansion joints in visible areas for exterior and interior use in commercial vehicle construction. For difficult substrates, we recommend an adhesion test before application.
Application
DINITROL 425 UV is applied at room temperature. The surface to be treated must be clean and free of dust, oil and grease. Please use DINITROL 582 to clean dirty substrates. The applied DINITROL 425 UV can be smoothed very well with the help of DINITROL 300. Commercially available spray guns can be used for cartridges and tubular bags. The bead geometry and layer thickness for bonding depends on the maximum load caused by movement in the bonded joint. DINITROL 425 UV cures depending on the joint dimensions, humidity and temperature.
Recoatability
2K acrylic paints, elastic paints are required for expansion joints. Latex paints and water-thinnable acrylic paints must be tested for suitability. Alcohol-based paints or alkyd resin paints impair curing and may only be used on fully cured sealant. Expansion joints may only be coated with elastic paints. Suitability tests must be carried out for nitrocellulose paints and water-thinnable paints.
