How can I check the gas level of an ALUGAS gas bottle?

The manufacturer ALUGAS does not offer a fill level indicator for its own cylinders, but there are several options for reliably checking the gas fill level of your ALU gas cylinder.

Alugas fill level indicator - these options are available:

Mopeka for aluminium gas

The most common and one of the cheapest options for aluminium gas is the MOPEKA Pro sensor with adhesive frame, which is attached to the bottom of the cylinder and measures the fill level using ultrasonic technology. The level is displayed either in the Mopeka app on your mobile phone or via an optional Mopeka monitor. In both cases, the connection is made via Bluetooth and the battery is expected to last around one year. However, this may vary depending on usage behaviour.

You can also use the conventional Mopeka Pro sensors without an adhesive frame, but with a magnet. However, as aluminium is not magnetic, you will need the so-called clamping plate from CAMPKO to clamp it under the bottle.

It should be noted, however, that due to deviating production tolerances for aluminium gas cylinder bases, the clamping plate will unfortunately not fit every ALUGAS cylinder universally, but should be sufficient in most cases.

Truma Level Control for Alugas

The two other common options are the so-called Truma LevelControl, which works similarly to the Mopeka sensor with ultrasound, and the GOK Senso4s, which measures the weight of the cylinder. These solutions also establish a Bluetooth connection to your smartphone and require an app. When using the Truma LevelControl sensor, please note that, similar to the Mopeka sensor with magnets, the CAMPKO clamping plate must be used to attach it under the bottle.
