Autoterm parking heater

Founded in 2012, Autoterm is a leading global manufacturer of parking heaters used in both the OEM and aftermarket. The company's devices are known for their high quality, durability and energy efficiency, making them a first-class choice for anyone looking for a reliable and efficient heating solution at a very good price/performance ratio.

Quality management

Quality is very important to the manufacturer. Therefore, the products are tested twice.
1. all Autoterm heaters must pass a cold test to check their electrical resistance and ensure that all internal components are fully functional.
2. each heater is tested for 30 minutes in real environments to measure the temperature of the generated airflow as well as the temperature and the amount of CO2 from emissions to ensure that each heater is working according to the guidelines.
Autoterm products have been manufactured in Latvia and Azerbaijan since the end of 2022. The company works together with renowned suppliers. The quality control of the new production facility has already been approved according to the internationally recognized ISO 9001:2015 / ISO 14001:2015 standards. In addition, the new air and liquid heaters manufactured in Latvia have already received the E2-122R and E2-10R certificates of conformity, which ensure safe use of the product in any land or water vehicle.

What is an Autoterm parking heater?

An Autoterm parking heater is an independent heater that is installed in vehicles. It is designed to preheat the interior of the vehicle and the engine to improve driver safety and comfort, especially in cold climates. Autoterm parking heaters are suitable for a wide range of vehicle types, including cars, trucks, motorhomes and boats.

How does an Autoterm parking heater work?

  1. The air intake hose supplies the combustion chamber of the parking heater with fresh air.
  2. Fuel (diesel or gasoline) is also injected into the combustion chamber by the metering pump. This creates the air-fuel mixture.
  3. A glow plug ignites the air-fuel mixture. This starts the combustion process and the heat exchanger is heated.
  4. Heated air is drawn in by a fan and directed via a hot air duct to an air vent/air flap inside the vehicle.

How is the Autoterm parking heater supplied with diesel and which diesel fuel is permitted?

The parking heater can be supplied via the vehicle's fuel tank or via a separate auxiliary tank. You can fill up with conventional diesel, winter diesel and special types, e.g. Ulimate diesel, without any problems. Bio diesel, on the other hand, is not permitted as it contains bacteria which can damage the fuel pump and the combustion chamber.

Can the Autoterm parking heater also be operated while driving?

Yes, if properly installed, the Autoterm, formerly Planar parking heater can also be operated while driving.

Up to what heights can the Autoterm heater be operated?

Autoterm air parking heaters: 1600 m above sea level
Autoterm water level heating: 1000 m above sea level
For higher altitudes above sea level, there is a separately available Autoterm altitude kit. With this, the heater can be operated up to 4000 meters above sea level.

How much warm air can Autoterm heaters deliver per hour?

Autoterm Air 2D approx. 75 m3 per hour
Autoterm Air 4D approx. 120 m3 per hour
Autoterm Air 8D approx. 175 m3 per hour
Autoterm Air 9D approx. 290 m3 per hour

What is the fuel consumption of Autoterm parking heaters?

In general, the fuel consumption depends on the maximum output and the selected mode.
Autoterm Air 2D 0.1 to 0.24 liters per hour
Autoterm Air 4D 0.12 to 0.51 liters per hour
Autoterm Air 8D 0.42 to 0.76 liters per hour
Autoterm Air 9D 0.42 to 1.00 liters per hour
