What is an Autoterm parking heater?
An Autoterm parking heater is an independent heater that is installed in vehicles. Autoterm parking heaters are suitable for a wide range of vehicle types, including cars, trucks, motorhomes and boats.
How does an Autoterm parking heater work?
- The air intake hose supplies the combustion chamber of the parking heater with fresh air.
- Fuel (diesel or gasoline) is also injected into the combustion chamber by the metering pump. This creates the air-fuel mixture.
- A glow plug ignites the air-fuel mixture. This starts the combustion process and the heat exchanger is heated.
- Heated air is drawn in by a fan and directed via a hot air duct to an air vent/air flap inside the vehicle.
How is the Autoterm parking heater supplied with diesel and which diesel fuel is permitted?
The parking heater can be supplied via the vehicle's fuel tank or via a separate auxiliary tank. You can fill up with conventional diesel, winter diesel and special types, e.g. Ulimate diesel, without any problems. Bio diesel, on the other hand, is not permitted as it contains bacteria which can damage the fuel pump and the combustion chamber.
