Application
The injector is used in LPG systems and CNG systems for the metered injection of gaseous fuel. The hose version is suitable for system configurations with appropriate hose routing and compatible control units. Before replacement or installation, compatibility, electrical connection, coil resistance, flow rate class and system pressure must be checked against the relevant control unit and the existing LPG conversion kit.
Safety and warning notices
General safety
- Installation, replacement and commissioning must only be carried out by qualified specialist personnel for LPG/CNG vehicle gas systems; escaping gas may form flammable or explosive mixtures.
- Before carrying out any work on the LPG conversion kit, switch off the engine, turn off the ignition, depressurise the system in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and ensure adequate ventilation.
- Strictly avoid open flames, sparks, smoking, hot surfaces and other ignition sources during installation.
- Use only with compatible control units that are suitable for 1.3 ohm injectors and the specified peak-and-hold current.
Installation and operation
- Observe the specified operating pressure and the system manufacturer’s guidelines; incorrect gas pressure can lead to malfunction, rough engine running or engine failure.
- Ensure the electrical connection is made with the power switched off and check that it is correctly seated, with clean contacts and securely locked in place.
- Lay gas pipes and hoses so that they are not under tension, protect them against chafing, kinking, heat and vibration, and use only suitable, gas-resistant components.
- A suitable gas filter is essential to keep contaminants such as metal shavings, oil or tar residues away from the injector.
- Do not open, modify, damage or mechanically rework the injector unless this is expressly carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and with the appropriate specialist knowledge.
- Do not use volatile cleaning agents or unsuitable sprays such as WD-40 for cleaning; these can damage rubber and sealing components. For cleaning, use only suitable methods in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Testing after installation
- After each installation, carry out a leak test on all relevant gas-carrying connections in accordance with applicable regulations and the manufacturer’s specifications.
- After installation, check the function of the LPG/CNG system, inspect the injector control and engine running performance, and have the system professionally calibrated if necessary.
- If you detect a smell of gas, a leak, misfires, rough engine running or electrical faults, do not continue to operate the system and have it inspected by a qualified technician.
Storage and disposal
- Store in a dry, clean place, protected from moisture, dust, direct heat and mechanical stress.
- Dispose of old parts, seals and packaging in accordance with local regulations; do not dispose of electronic components with household waste.
- Keep out of reach of children; small parts and packaging material may pose a hazard.
