The Linnepe TriGasAlarm is a compact RV propane gas detector that alerts you to three potential hazards simultaneously: propane, butane (LPG) and anaesthetic or knockout gases. This means the lp detector for RV protects you in your motorhome, caravan or campervan both from leaking liquefied petroleum gas from the heating, hob or gas system, and from incapacitating gases such as those used in attacks on recreational vehicles.

What the TriGasAlarm warns you about

  • Propane & butane (LPG): heavier than air – accumulates on the floor of the vehicle, exactly where the gas detector is fitted.
  • Narcotic and knockout gases: the highly sensitive sensor detects even the slightest concentrations of narcotic gases – particularly relevant for off-grid sites and self-sufficient pitches.

Note: The TriGasAlarm does not detect carbon monoxide (CO). You will need a separate detector for CO monitoring.

Your benefits

  • Pre-alarm and main alarm: if gas concentrations reach critical levels, a pre-alarm sounds first, followed by the main alarm at approx. 80 dB – loud enough to wake you from sleep and alert people outside the vehicle.
  • Temperature-compensated sensors: automatically compensate for temperature fluctuations and operate reliably even at indoor temperatures above 25 °C.
  • Automatic calibration: the device self-checks every 40 seconds and adjusts to the ambient air and temperature.
  • Status at a glance: the housing lights up green (ready for operation) or red (alarm); the LED can be dimmed at night.
  • Easy to use: switched on and off at the touch of a button, quick to retrofit, permanently mounted at floor level.
  • Optional second sensor: can also be fitted to the ceiling (cable up to 3 m) – protects against rising and falling gases.

Installation & Connection

The gas detector is permanently connected to the 12 V on-board battery of your motorhome, caravan or boat (operating voltage 9–16 V DC). Operating it via a mains adaptor or charger may cause malfunctions. With a standby current of just 95 mA, it places virtually no strain on the on-board battery. It is installed at floor level in a clearly visible, easily accessible location.

Operation

Switch on the TriGasAlarm before you go to bed, and switch it off again when you get up. The device is not designed for genuine 24/7 continuous operation. After switching on, it undergoes a brief calibration phase (approx. 1 minute, green flashing LED) and is then ready for use.
