Two AC inputs with integrated transfer switch
The Quattro can be connected to two independent AC sources: for example, to the public power grid and to a generator or to two generators. The Quattro automatically connects to the active source.
Two AC outputs
The main output ensures uninterrupted operation. In the event of a mains failure or an interruption in the shore/generator current, the Quattro takes over the supply to the connected loads. The switchover happens so quickly (in less than 20 milliseconds) that uninterrupted operation of computers and other electronic devices is guaranteed. The second output only supplies power if alternating current is available at one of the Quattro's inputs. Consumers,
that must not discharge the battery, such as a water heater, can be connected to this output.
Virtually unlimited power thanks to parallel connection
Up to 6 Quattros can be connected in parallel. With six 48/10000/140 units, for example, this results in 48 kW/60 kVA output power or 840 A charging current.
Three-phase operation
Three units can be connected in a three-phase configuration. But that's not all: by connecting six such systems in parallel, 144kW/180kVA inverter power or 2500 A charging current can be achieved. PowerControl - working with limited generator output, limited shore or mains power The Quattro is a very powerful battery charger. It therefore draws a lot of current from the generator or the shore power supply (16 A per 5 kVA Quattro at 230 VAC). A current limit can be set on each of the AC inputs. The Quattro then takes account of other connected AC consumers and only uses the current that is still "left over" for charging. This prevents the generator or mains connection from being overloaded.
PowerAssist - increasing the shore connection or generator output
This function adds a new dimension to the PowerControl principle, as the Quattro can support an alternative source that is too weak. Load peaks often only occur for a limited period of time. In such a case, the Quattro ensures that insufficient mains or generator power is immediately compensated for by energy from the battery. If the load is reduced, i.e. consumers are switched off, the available energy can then be used to recharge the batteries.
Solar power: alternating current even in the event of a power failure
The Quattro can be used for both non-grid-connected and grid-connected PV systems as well as other alternative energy systems. Software is available to recognise a grid failure.
On-site monitoring and control
Several options are available: Battery monitor, Multi Control Panel, Colour Control GX and other GX devices, smartphone or tablet (Bluetooth Smart), laptop or computer (USB or RS232). Remote monitoring and control of Color Control GX and other GX devices. The data can be saved and viewed free of charge on our VRM (Victron Remote Management) website.
Remote configuration:
If systems with a Color Control GX and other GX devices are connected to the Ethernet, they can be accessed and settings can be changed remotely.
