The DC-DC converter Buck-Boost is a DC-DC converter for charging a 12V/24V service battery in vehicles with an intelligent dynamo. As these dynamos (driven by the on-board electronics of Euro 5 and 6 engines) do not always output the correct charging current, a DC-DC converter is crucial for charging the service battery correctly.
Recognising a running engine
The deep discharge of a vehicle's starter battery is prevented by a built-in detection system that recognises a running engine. Instead of this detection system, the inverter can also be activated via a programmable input (D+, CAN bus or (+)15 connection).
Fully programmable
The inverter can be fully programmed using a simple and user-friendly PC application. (This requires a USB cable from type A (M) to type B (M))
One product for 12V, 24V and 12/24V systems
The inverter can be programmed to charge a 12V or 24V auxiliary battery via a 12V or 24V dynamo and a starter battery.
Limiting the charging current and the input current
The output current is determined by the following factors:
- The maximum charging current setting.
- The maximum input current setting.
- The maximum operating temperature limit of the inverter.
