Victron Energy solar chargers are supplied with energy via solar modules and then store it in batteries. Using the latest and fastest technology, the SmartSolar maximises this energy production and intelligently directs it to fully charge the batteries in as short a time as possible. The SmartSolar maintains the functionality of the battery and thus extends its service life. The SmartSolar charge controller even recharges a heavily discharged battery. It can operate with a battery voltage of just 0 volts, provided the cells are not permanently sulphated or otherwise damaged.
MPPT - Ultra Fast Maximum Power Point Tracking - By continuously monitoring the voltage and current output of your solar (PV) modules, MPPT technology ensures that all available energy is drawn from the modules and stored. The benefit of this is most noticeable when the sky is partly cloudy and the light intensity is constantly changing.
Remote monitoring and control - You can control and monitor the extensive functions of your SmartSolar MMPT charger remotely by pairing it with your smartphone or other device via VictronConnect. If your system is connected to the Victron Remote Management Internet Portal (VRM) via a GX device, you have full access to your MPPT at any time and from anywhere. Both VictronConnect and VRM are available free of charge. For remote installations - even when there is no internet connection nearby - you can monitor your MPPT by connecting to the GlobalLink 520.
Optional SmartSolar Control Display: By adding the SmartSolar Control Display, you can view the status of your charger and battery storage at a glance. This gives you access to the monitoring function in real time and allows you to make set-up changes. After purchase, simply remove the rubber seal that protects the plug on the front of the controller and insert the display in place of the rubber seal.
