- Product description
Solar regulator for motorhomes, caravans and boats. The solar regulator is specially designed for use in motorhomes and caravans and is suitable for all lead-acid battery types and makes (acid, GEL/dryfit and AGM/fleece batteries). The batteries are optimally charged with IU1oU2 characteristics thanks to intelligent microprocessor control. The solar regulator operates fully automatically and maintenance-free and offers the following functions:
- Charging output for on-board battery I, charging programmes 1, 2 and 4 (gel, AGM, acid) adjustable to battery type.
- Charging output starter battery II: Separate auxiliary charging output with reduced charging current (12 V / 0.8 A or 1.5 A) for support charging and charge retention of the vehicle starter battery with protection against overcharging during long idle periods.
- The charging voltage is free of peaks and regulated in such a way that overcharging of the batteries is prevented.
- Two battery charging outputs: Automatic charging of the main or on-board battery (on-board I). Support charging and charge retention of the vehicle starter battery (Start II) with protection against overcharging.
- Monitoring-free charging: Standard protection against battery back-discharge (if solar power is too low, e.g. at dusk, at night, etc.), against overloading and overheating.
- Buffer operation: Maintains the charging characteristics even when the battery is operated simultaneously with consumers.
- Overcharging protection: Regulates the charging current of the battery back if there is too much solar power and the battery is full, ensures that the battery is charged to the highest possible state of charge by immediately recharging when power is consumed.
- "IU1oU2" charging characteristic: Defined charging voltage increase (U1) prevents harmful acid stratification and ensures equalisation charging of the individual battery cells, followed by automatic trickle charging (U2).
- On-board filter: Built-in, allows the controller to be operated in parallel with other charging sources, wind and petrol generators, mains chargers, dynamos etc. on a battery without any problems.
- Connection for temperature sensor: Automatic adjustment of the charging voltage to the battery temperature. Improves full charging of the weaker battery in cold weather and prevents unnecessary battery gassing in summer temperatures.
Highly recommended if the battery is exposed to strong temperature fluctuations, e.g. in the engine compartment. - Charging cable compensation: Voltage losses on the charging cables are automatically compensated for.
- Measurement output for EBL (electric block of the vehicle): Enables convenient use of the (solar) current display built into the electric block to check the solar system.
Please be sure to check the compatibility of your Schaudt electric block (EBL) and the corresponding control and display panel in advance, as we cannot accept any liability for this. - Switching output "AES" (SR 350 CI and SR 550 CI only): Causes the ELECTROLUX/DOMETIC refrigerators with "AES" (Automatic Energy Selector) to switch automatically from gas to 12 V operation when there is plenty of excess solar power.
- Ready to plug in for connection of the Votronic LCD Solar Computer S solar display units for optimum control of the system.
Note:Please note that the solar charge controller may only be used with solar panels up to the maximum power rating (Wp) and below the maximum permissible voltage (Voc). Furthermore, the controller is not suitable for an input-side connection (+/- solar panels) of wind, water, fuel or motor generators, power supply units, batteries or other power sources.
