  • Product description

The Centaur battery chargers have an automatic input range that covers 90-265 VAC 50/60 Hz, which means they can be used anywhere in the world.

Unlike many other products that specify a universal input, the Centaur range maintains full output power within the full specified range. Other features include fully automatic three-stage charging characteristics, ensuring batteries are fully charged every time, and three isolated charging outputs for multiple battery configurations suitable for most typical installations.

The range includes 12 V and 24 V models from 16 A to 100 A.

Quality without compromise

Aluminium housings with epoxy powder coating, drip protection and stainless steel fixings withstand the rigours of harsh environments: heat, humidity and salty air. The circuit boards are protected with an acrylic coating for maximum corrosion resistance. Temperature sensors ensure that the power components always operate within the specified limits, if necessary by automatically reducing the output current under extreme environmental conditions.

Universal 90-265V AC input voltage range and also suitable for DC power supply (AC-DC and DC-DC operation)

All models operate without any adjustment in an input voltage range of 90 to 265 volts, regardless of whether 50 Hz or 60 Hz. The chargers also accept a direct current supply of 90-400 V

Three outputs, each capable of delivering the full output current

Three isolated outputs for simultaneous charging of 3 battery banks. Each output can deliver the full rated current

Three-stage charging with temperature compensation

The Centaur charges at bulk rate until the output power has dropped to 70% of the rated current, at which point a 4-hour timer starts. Once this time has elapsed, the charger switches to trickle charging. An internal temperature sensor is used to compensate the charging voltage with - 2 mV/ºC (- 1 mV/ºF) per cell. The optimum charge/float voltage for lead-acid, gel or AGM batteries can be selected via a DIP switch.
