  • Product description

The BMV-702is a high-precision battery monitor. The main function of a battery monitor is to calculate the ampere-hours consumed and the state of charge of a battery. The ampere-hours consumed are calculated by integrating the current flowing into or out of the battery.

Medium voltage monitoring

This feature, often used in the industry to monitor large and expensive battery banks, is now available for the first time at a low price to monitor any battery bank.

A battery bank consists of a series of cells connected in series. The centre voltage is the voltage in the middle of the series. Ideally, the centre voltage is exactly half of the total voltage. In practice, however, deviations occur that depend on many factors, such as a different state of charge in new batteries or cells, different temperatures, internal leakage currents, capacities and much more.

Large or increasing deviations in the mean voltage indicate improper battery maintenance or a failed battery or cell. Corrective action following a medium voltage alarm can prevent serious damage to an expensive battery. For further information, please refer to the BMV manual.

Simple installation

All electrical connections are made via the quick connection board on the current shunt. The shunt is connected to the monitor using a standard RJ12 telephone cable. Included in the scope of delivery: RJ 12 cable (10 m) and battery cable with fuse (2 m); no other components required.

Also included are a separate front frame for a square or round display look, a locking ring for rear mounting and screws for front mounting.

Standard features:
