Victron Energy Phoenix Smart IP43 Charger 12/50 (1+1) 230 V

This customisable 5-stage charger can charge each of the three battery banks with either 30A or 50A. Or the Phoenix 1+1 model delivers 3A to the starter battery and the rest to the house battery. 24V models are available with 16A/25A charging. Automatic voltage compensation

The charger compensates for the voltage drop across the DC wiring by slightly increasing the output voltage when the DC current increases. Please refer to the manual for details.

Avoiding damage due to excessive gassing: BatterySafe mode

If a high charging current in combination with a high absorption voltage has been selected to charge a battery quickly, the charger prevents damage from excessive gassing by automatically limiting the voltage increase as soon as the gassing voltage is reached.

Less maintenance and ageing when the battery is not in use: storage mode

Storage mode is always activated when the battery has not been discharged for 24 hours. In storage mode, the float voltage is reduced to 2.2 V/cell (13.2 V for a 12 V battery) to minimise gas formation and corrosion of the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is raised back to the absorption level to "equalise" the battery. This function prevents electrolyte stratification and sulphation, one of the main causes of premature battery failure.
