SikaPower-4720 is a 2-component, high-strength, epoxy-based adhesive with excellent adhesion properties to a wide range of substrates. It has been specifically developed for bonding metal or composite components. Integrated glass beads provide a controlled optimum adhesive layer thickness of 0.25 mm. The adhesive cures to a rigid bond at room temperature.
SikaPower-4720 is suitable for bonding components that are subject to high dynamic loads such as door outer panels, rear panels, roof panels or side panels. The adhesive is not suitable for bonding structural components such as sills, cross members or engine mounts. Common materials are metals, especially aluminum (also anodized and rolled) and cold-rolled steel, as well as GRP. Sheet metal processed with SikaPower-4720 can be spot-welded as long as the adhesive has not yet cured.
