Drinking bottles for children are smaller so that they fit well in children’s hands. In this way, SIGG caters for different needs and has the right drinking bottle for everyone.

SIGG produces drinking bottles made of aluminium, 18/8 stainless steel, Tritan, glass and polypropylene.

Aluminium is an ideal material for drinking bottles as it is very light. It is therefore ideal for drinking bottles for athletes and children.

A cylinder is first formed from a piece of aluminium that looks like an ice hockey puck, from which the bottle shape is then created. Then the inside is coated with internal paint and the outside is decorated with colour and motif using a screen printing process. Finally, the lid is put on to check that everything fits. This ensures that all bottles leaving production are flawless.

The inner coating of the aluminium bottles is based on polyester and is flexible. This means that it does not peel off if the surface is dented or broken, for example. It is tasteless and odourless and free from harmful substances and BPA. The coating on the inside is of very high quality and fulfils all consumer safety regulations. It is tested hourly during production to maintain the highest standards. All materials fulfil the EU & FDA guidelines such as LFGB, EUV 1935/2004, EUV 10/2011 as well as US-CPSIA 2008 and FDA 21 CFR 175.300

18/8 means that the material contains 18% chromium, 8% nickel and 74% steel. The stainless steel is specially designed for the food industry. Drinking bottles made of 18/8 stainless steel are unbreakable and have excellent hygiene conditions because they are tasteless and odourless. The 18/8 stainless steel bottles consist of two parts that are joined together at the bottle neck.

Food-grade stainless steel is used for all stainless steel items.

The 18/8 stainless steel bottles are actually suitable for everyone. However, as they contain chrome and nickel, people with allergies should use other bottles.

In very rare cases, the stainless steel used can rust. However, this can be easily polished or ground off.

Tritan is a patented plastic that is free from harmful substances. It looks like glass, but is shatterproof. Tritan is also tasteless and odourless and dishwasher-safe up to 90°C. The drinking bottles are free from harmful substances such as BPA or phthalates

The plastic is first injected into a pre-mould before being poured into the bottle mould using high-pressure air.

Polypropylene is a plastic that is very strong and resilient. Due to its low weight, it is ideal for drinking bottles in the sports sector, for example. Polypropylene bottles are free from harmful substances such as BPA or phthalates

First, the plastic is melted and then poured into a cooled metal mould. Air is then blown into the mould to inflate it into a bottle shape.

Glass drinking bottles are food-safe and do not absorb odours or flavours. SIGG glass bottles are free from BPA and phthalates.

Star, Dream and Hot & Cold bottles are made in Chine from heat-resistant borosilicate glass. Stella bottles are made in Italy from a glass melt of sand, soda and other components.

It is always gentler to wash something by hand than to put it in the dishwasher. SIGG also recommends hand washing. The bottle should be cleaned with hot water after each use. Leave the bottle open and without the lid to dry.

If a drinking bottle has scratches and dents, moisture may enter between the bottle and the paint, causing the paint to flake off. The drinking bottle can still be used.

Yes, all bottles are leak-proof. In order to maintain this, care should be taken to ensure that all parts of the bottle are used and cleaned properly. If a bottle is no longer leak-proof, it may be due to the seal. Spare parts are available for this.

The bottles should be cleaned by hand after each use. This is gentler on the bottle. The best way to do this is to remove the silicone seals and carefully clean everything with a mild detergent.
