The Battery Protectdisconnects the battery from non-essential loads before it is fully discharged (which would damage the battery) or before it no longer has enough power to start the engine.
The Battery Protect is a unidirectional device. It can only handle current in one direction, i.e. either current to a load or current from a charger, but not both currents at the same time. In addition, the current can only flow from the battery terminal to the load terminal. When used with a load, the battery is connected to the battery terminal, and when used with a charger, the charger is connected to the battery terminal.
