The aluminium gas bottles from Alugas are ideal for all camping, barbecue and grill fans. They are significantly lighter than conventional steel bottles and thus offer handling that is easy on the body and back. In addition, the bottle does not rust, which means that no rust particles can clog the gas system.

They also have a high vaporisation performance even at low temperatures, which enables year-round barbecue enjoyment.

Aluminium gas cylinders compared to steel cylinders

What is gross weight, fill weight and tare weight?

In order to understand the different weight indications on a gas cylinder, it is important to know the terms gross weight, fill weight and tare weight.

  • Gross weight: This is the total weight of the cylinder including the contents. It is made up of the net weight (tare) of the bottle and the filling weight of the contents.
  • Filling weight: The filling weight is the weight of the contents of the bottle, for example propane or butane gas.
  • Tare weight: The term "tare" means "deduction". It is used when you weigh substances that you cannot weigh without aids, such as gases or liquids, in a container. The tare weight (net weight) is therefore the difference between the gross weight and the filling weight.
