Installation position and angle:
The installation position is particularly crucial for cylinder tanks:
Liquid withdrawal tanks are usually installed at an angle of 52°. This angle is also stamped on the valve plate and on the floats for the level indicator and fill stop. Accordingly, care must be taken to ensure that the tank or the valve plate on the tank is aligned at exactly 52 degrees. RV propane tanks (gas phase) have different installation positions, typically:
- 0° or 90° - for installation on the loading area
- 105° - for underfloor installation (so that the extraction pipe points downwards, which saves space and makes maintenance easier)
Important: The installation position is fixed and is also stamped on the type plate. A tank with a 90° position must not be installed in a 105° position - otherwise the extraction will not function correctly.
Valves and coating:

- The coating of the tanks is usually standardized. The diameter of the valve must be taken into account to ensure that the float functions correctly.
- For RV propane tanks, the typical installation positions are 105 degrees, 90 degrees, and 0 degrees. Tanks used on the loading area are usually installed at 90 and 0 degrees, while 105 degrees is preferred for underfloor installation. This has the advantage that the tank points downwards, which makes maintenance easier and saves space.
