In this category, you will find gas cylinders for motorhomes, caravans, campervans and recreational vehicles. The range includes refillable LPG cylinders made from aluminium, steel or composite materials, as well as suitable models featuring an 80% fill stop, multi-valve, OPD valve or mechanical level indicator. Gas cylinders are suitable for permanent installation in the gas locker and allow for convenient refilling of LPG at autogas filling stations. Depending on the vehicle, installation situation and desired safety standard, various sizes, materials and valve types are available. More about our range of gas cylinders.
Gas cylinders feature a special, advanced safety valve with an 80% fill stop function that prevents the gas cylinder from overfilling. This means the gas cylinder no longer needs to be exchanged like conventional 5 kg and 11 kg gas cylinders, but can be refuelled or refilled at any time. It is refillable.
For this reason, it offers the user greater flexibility and freedom, particularly as a camping gas cylinder, for barbecuing or as a CamperGas cylinder for permanent installation in a motorhome or campervan.
Gas cylinders in motorhomes are mounted in the gas locker using a sturdy gas cylinder bracket on the rear wall of the gas locker. To enable refuelling with gas, an additional CamperGas LPG filler neck for motorhomes is mounted on the outside of the bodywork. The gas cylinders can be refilled at any vehicle gas filling station via the CamperGas filling nozzle.
One of the best-known refillable gas cylinders is the aluminium gas cylinder from Alugas. The Alugas Travel Mate gas cylinder is characterised by high-quality workmanship and is one of the lightest LPG gas cylinders on the market. Particularly for permanent installation in a motorhome’s gas locker, the aluminium gas cylinder offers the advantage of a removable cylinder collar for more convenient and space-saving installation. The safety valve on the Alugas gas cylinder features a mechanical gas level indicator, allowing the gas level to be read directly on the cylinder. The mechanical indicator is not particularly precise and should be regarded as a guide to whether the cylinder is full, half-empty or empty.
The Alugas gas cylinder is CE-certified and is subject to a 10-year gas cylinder inspection by TÜV.
The CAMPKO composite gas cylinder is available with an OPD and a multi-valve. Both valves feature an 80% fill-stop function. The multi-valve version also features a mechanical gas level indicator and two separate connections for gas filling and gas extraction. The composite gas cylinder is the lightest gas cylinder in terms of weight, but does not have a removable cylinder collar. It is frequently used for leisure activities or in the CamperGas sector as a portable cylinder.
The steel gas cylinder is a true heavyweight with a high safety standard. Whilst the CAMPKO steel cylinder is heavier than aluminium or composite gas cylinders, it is the only one to meet the high ECE 67R-01 standard from the automotive sector. Gas cylinders and motorhome gas tanks with ECE 67R-01 approval are not subject to a 10-year inspection period by the TÜV and meet the highest safety standards.
The cylinder collar is removable; however, the open design of the collar usually provides enough space to fit a gas pressure regulator or a Drehmeister gas cylinder filter even when the cylinder is installed. The CAMPKO gas cylinder also features a mechanical gas level indicator on the valve and, due to its material, is compatible with many external gas level indicators from Rotarex, Mopeka, Gaslevel and GOK.
If the weight of the cylinder is not a decisive factor, then the steel version is the best solution. It is more cost-effective than the composite and aluminium variants, offers the user a higher safety standard and does not have a 10-year inspection interval.
The gas level in your cylinder can be measured using external gas level sensors and displayed via a gas level gauge. You can find a wide selection of gas level gauges here.
