Thitronik Gas Detectors

The Thitronik gas detectors of the G.A.S. range warn against propane, butane and knockout (KO) gases inside RVs and motorhomes. A gas detector protects above all when a hazard would otherwise go unnoticed, for example while you sleep. The line spans fixed units such as the G.A.S.-pro III, the portable G.A.S.-plug and the wireless G.A.S.-connect for linking to the WiPro III.

Detecting propane, butane and knockout gas

Besides liquefied gas (propane and butane), the systems also detect introduced knockout and anesthetic gases that can be used in attacks on travelers. One unit therefore covers two different risks – leakage and deliberate sedation.

Where to mount a gas detector

Propane and butane are heavier than air and collect near the floor, so the gas detector belongs low in the living area. Anesthetic-gas monitoring is placed near the sleeping area instead; the exact position depends on the vehicle and the unit.

Adding a carbon monoxide sensor

For the G.A.S.-pro and G.A.S.-pro III, an additional carbon monoxide sensor warns against CO from incomplete combustion of a furnace or stove. One system then covers liquefied gas, knockout gas and carbon monoxide.
